EXAMINATION SYSTEM
SCHEME OF EXAMINATION, EVALUATION AND PROMOTION NORMS FOR PRIMARY SCHOOL
  • The School will have two terms.
  • First term will have SA-1(60%) + FA-1(20%) + FA-2 (20%) April-September
  • Second term will have SA-2(60%) + FA-3(20%) + FA-4(20%) Oct-March
  • Summative assessment will be only based on written tests
  • Formative assessment will be based on activities, assignments and class tests.

The students of the middle school will be exposed to six activities during the 3 years classes VI, VII & VIII.
The activities are - Music, Dance, Painting, Sculpture, Meal Planning Dramatics.
These activities are divided into three groups:-

1. Painting Sculpture
2. Music Dance
3. Meal planning Dramatics
 
The students will be allotted one group in each year of their respective classes VI, VII and VIII. Each group is further subdivided into two sub groups (a) & (b). The sub groups will interchange activities after Autumn Break. This will ensure that each student is exposed to all the activities by the time he/she finishes class VIII.
Attendance and Examination Scheme of the CBSE
All students are required to complete 75% of attendance to make him/her eligible to take the examination.

Evaluation for classes VI- X
This is based on the guidelines prescribed by the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi.
For classes 6th 7th and 8th only letter grades will be given, For work experience, art education, health and physical education, environmental education and general studies only grades are given for all the classes. For class 11th along with numerical marks letter grades are also given.

Promotion Criteria
  • The promotion to the next class will be based on the cumulative assessment of the whole year as per weightages given earlier.
  • The pass percentage for each subject will be 33%
  • In case of subjects with practical, it is necessary to pass in theory as well as in practical separately.

Scheme of Examinations and Pass Criteria
(a). There will be three internal examinations: First Terminal Examination, Second Terminal Examination, and Pre-Board Examination. In the first and second term there will be class tests / assignment for which marks out of ten will be given in the report card,
(b). The students will appear in the Public Examination conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi in March.
(c). Work Experience, Health and Physical Education and General Studies / Art Education are an integral part of the Board Curriculum. Every student must secure a minimum grade D to pass the Board Examination.
Senior School Certificate Examination : XII
(I). The Board conducts examination in all subjects except General Studies, Work Experience, Physical and Health Education, which will be assessed internally by the school.
(II). In all subjects examined by the Board, a student will be given one paper each carrying 100 marks for 3 hours. However, in subjects requiring practical examination, there will be a theory paper and practical examinations as required in the syllabi and courses.
(III). In Work experience, General Studies and Physical and Health Education, the Schools will maintain cumulative records of students periodical achievements and progress during the year.
(IV). In order to be declared as having passed the examination, a candidate shall obtain a grade higher than E (i.e. at least 33% marks) in all the five subjects of external examination in the main or at the end of the compartmental examination. The pass marks in each subject of external examination shall be 33%. In case of a subject involving practical work a candidate must obtain 33% marks in theory and 33% marks in practical separately in addition to 33% marks in aggregate in order to qualify in that subject.
